Minning Town, a 23-episode TV series based on the decades-long battle against poverty in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has quickly made a splash online since its broadcast on several satellite TV channels and streaming sites on Jan 12. Set in Xihaigu, the impoverished mountainous area in southern Ningxia, the tale chronicles locals' effort to get rid of poverty with assistance from the prosperous Fujian province from early 1990s to recent years.
其實《山海情》之所以還能打動如今的年輕人，是因為劇中為脫貧而奮斗的村民里，很多都是年輕人，這和以往的一些扶貧劇將扶貧干部的面孔進行模式化、固定化的表達不一樣。

閩寧鎮(zhèn)的名字，取自福建和寧夏兩個省份的縮寫，閩是福建，寧是寧夏。為了響應(yīng)東西對口扶貧政策的號召，建設(shè)一個扶貧項目新地標(biāo)，于是就用對口幫扶的兩個省份命名這個城鎮(zhèn)。
依托于福建幫扶寧夏計劃，昔日的涌泉村變成了青山綠樹的“塞上江南”，閩寧鎮(zhèn)從飛沙走石的“干沙灘”成為了寸土寸金的“金沙灘”。
不過，看完大結(jié)局后，有些網(wǎng)友表示《山海情》作為劇名確實更勝一籌。
